History of classical music from beginning /baroque to romanticism. Pt-1

 

Classical music is also known as 'art music' but for clear description , classical music is a serious yet profound from of music unlike pop, jazz or Folk music. It follows long-established principles using various instruments. The instrument family is divided into categories such as string family, key family etc..

No. 1 string family : violin, cello, viola, harp, double bass or contra bass etc..

No. 2: key instruments: piano, keyboard, pipe organ, harpsichord, carillon, accordion etc..

No. 3: wood-wind instruments:recorders, flute, clarinet, oboes, saxophones saxophones , bassoons etc..

Brass Instruments: French horn, trombone, trumpets, horns, tuba, euphoniums etc..

No. 4: percussions : xylophones, cymbals , triangle, snare drum, bass drum , tambourine, chimes, Celesta etc..

These were the few examples of instruments family.

There are several forms and principles for classical music, according to practicality and harmonious progression. For instance a sonata is a piece arranged for solo instruments , accompanied by a piano. A string quartet four string instruments particularly featuring violin, viola and cello. A symphony for orchestra features Several instrument families , the string family percussion, key instrument, woodwinds, brass etc.. it is also used for accompanying the concertos.etc..

The musical history can be divided mainly into four different periods.while others include medieval era , Renaissance, and late romantic era.

It started from c.1580 - c.1750.(late baroque from, 1680 A.D -1750 A.D).The word baroque means 'oddly shaped Pearl'or 'misshaped pearl' in Portuguese Word 'Barroco'. This period of music included one of the greatest composers like Bach, Vivaldi, Handel, etc.. from this era the significant refine music came into life in form of concertos and sonatas and quartets . This era is also called   architectural era since in this era the music was heavily ornamental. It can be categorized by .

No 1 . Great contrast between loud and soft , solo and ensemble.

No2. A texture where two or more melodic lines are combined.

No 3. Long flowing melodies.

Etc..

And after all of this comes classical period where everything changes.
